The Art Gallery – A Story of Place, Faith and Family
Adjacent to the hotel and restaurant, lies one of the most beautiful and ancient buildings in the Beit Shalom complex – the Art Gallery. It is a warm and exciting cultural space, where story, history and deep human emotion meet.
The gallery was founded by Miriam and Chaim Hod-Pein, members of a family with roots in Metula, who turned the place into an experiential center that combines art, identity and values. Between the stone walls built in the 19th century, original works by local artists and Miriam’s personal works are displayed, reflecting themes of memory, faith and belonging.
Visitors to the gallery are invited to be impressed by powerful works, including:
A series of six works on tallit – a tribute to spiritual light and Jewish roots.
A work of roots from the Holocaust – a touching artistic journey into the family past and national memory.
A new memorial corner for October 7th – a special exhibition in memory of the Winbar family, whose vehicle was hit by two missiles.
In addition to the permanent exhibitions, the gallery hosts unique lectures:
A lecture by Chaim Hod-Pein, who tells in his personal and fascinating style about the history, geography and roots of his family – a family that has been rooted in the land of Metula for 130 years.
A lecture by Miriam Hod-Pein, who deals with the human story of SLA soldiers and the families who crossed borders and built a new life in the Galilee.
The gallery also serves as a place to host groups – an educational, cultural and personal experience, suitable for schools, delegations and organizations that wish to encounter the story of Metula through human eyes and moving creation.
Between the arches and the light penetrating through the stone windows, visitors discover the story of Beit Shalom – a story about home, memory and peace in the heart of the Galilee.
