My wife & I spent a marvelous evening at Pina Balev on our last night in Israel. The accommodations were superb, the host delightful and accommodating, the food delicious and varied, and the neighborhood - well worth exploring.



I'd recommend it to anyone looking for more than just a nice place to rest a weary head, since it's that and so much more.

We stayed at this beautiful property in Rosh Pina and had an absolutely lovely time. The room was perfect. It was a little pricey since we didn't know that we had been booked into a suite, but it was lovely all the same. The setting was magnificent, with a beautiful garden at the back of our room where we had a delicious home made breakfast each morning. Kobi the owner was delightful and very helpful. We would definitely stay here again.

This gem is an ideal "home base" for exploring Galilee. We stayed here so we could do a full day touring of the places we've been reading about in the Bible.







Pina Balev's owner Kobi was gracious and helpful from the time we spoke on the phone. I had never heard of Rosh Pina and his tone just drew me to stay here. He's there when you need him and not when you don't...a gifted host who seems at home here in this restored farmhouse that has its roots in the founding of this town, which has great restaurants and can be explored on foot. (Kobi has also lived in the US, so he knows how to relate to our American sensibilities as well as explain Israeli culture and wonder).







It's up in the hills, providing beautiful views to the valley, yet just 2 minutes from the highway 85 that demarcates the northern and southern regions of the Galilee.







As a first-time visitor to Israel, Rosh Pina served as the perfect "intermezzo" between the big city of Tel Aviv and our final few days spent in Jerusalem. My wife and I highly recommend this to couples who are coming to visit this beautiful country. We are finding that allowing ourselves to immerse into the culture and the people is a reward in and of itself.







One more thing: Kobi set us up with a private tour guide...definitely worth the investment (rather than be on a big old tour bus!).

Pina Balev is a wonderful B&B set in a beautiful, bucolic garden. We had the Deluxe Suite which had everything and was large and comfortable- hot tub on the deck! Our host Kobi could not have been more friendly or accommodating. He made dinner reservations for us without even asking , one we kept, which was an extraordinary culinary experience (L'Auberge). Kobi even drove us to the restaurant. Kobi also served breakfast himself and it was fantastic!! I highly recommend Pina Balev as an alternative to the same old atmosphere of hotels. Warm and lovely place.

We spent three glorious nights at Pina Balev under the gracious and generous care of a Kobi and his family. The accommodations were so beautiful and charming, with hot tub, sauna and spa right out your back door. The breakfasts offered were world class--everything so fresh and home made served elegantly under the shade trees in the garden. I would highly encourage all of my friends to visit. It was a great honeymoon for us!!

When you first get to Pina Balev, you find yourself parking behind the Rosh Pina post office and wondering what is up. Then you step through the small gate and into a wonderful, eclectic, relaxing oasis. Kobe has it down pat. Practical rooms with charming touches; a truly charming and welcome garden, dipping pool, hammocks, even a sauna. And he himself could not be warmer or more helpful. One would be hard pressed to find a better spot if you're visiting RP or Safed. Thanks Kobe!!

The owner is the essence of Menschkeit. A retiree from Tel Aviv who has re-established his version of country bliss in a tiny finger of land in the northern Galilee, wedged between Syria and Lebanon. This wonderful character brings breakfast on a tray to his guests; you can’t get more personal service than that!



• He has a variety of accommodation to offer. We were given a huge suite – big enough to take a whole family with a loft as well. Kitchen complete with cooking facilities yet Kobe delivers the goods himself.



• We feast on our verandah, our Darwinian garden before us. How to describe it? Geen parrots chirp amidst the cacophony of tangled greens, and frangipani; figs and purple bougainvillea woven through like a tightly knitted Tibetan rug.



• All to the tune of jets roaring above….The silence and song of the morning birds is broken by gunfire from the ‘red zone’ down the Hizbollah highyway to Hamasthan ..



“It’s just the army base 50 kms away” says Kobi. “They’re practising their normal rounds.” Now come eat already…

Jacuzzi on terrace, chicken laid eggs, omelette aux petits herbes cooked to perfection.



Just can’t imagine Syria on the flip side of the hill…just 25 miles away.

Kobe has a garden, he grows all his own herbs and makes his own jams.



We eat parsley and sage in the salad, and wattle in his jam.

Hospitality and beauty at their highest levels

Kobi was the finest host I have ever had while staying away from home. His hospitality was legendary. Breakfast was spectacular every morning and served under fruit trees in a perfect garden. The room was very comfortable and offered sauna and Jacuzzi inside and out. I could not imagine a better situation.

Kobi's B&B was great. It's rooms and feel are obviously a labor of love. Our suite for 2 was pretty, well kept and equipped, even with a whirlpool, and of good size. Our companion's single was similarly laid out but smaller, for 1, and also had a whirlpool. Kori was extremely accommodating and helpful. He and we enjoyed his talking with us and telling us about the area and himself. Breakfast can be included, but we'd not requested it in making the reservation. We ordered it anyway, and it was excellent and, at $20 per person, was good value. He makes his own bread, fresh and hot, and his own pear jam. Both excellent. The rest of the breakfast spread is also very nice, including omelettes, fresh salad and fruit, homemade granola,.... Good place! Worth staying there.
